For some time the way we are governed at all levels from the very local to the more global has been seen at best as a source of displeasure and at worst as a matter of serious discontent. Democracy is seen in many quarters as a sham and merely a respectable cover to keep the oligarchies in power. Our people complain on a regular basis that civil society no longer lives up to its name and their ability to influence its erosion fades by the day.
There has been much talk by some Politicians about a top to toe review of the UK governance but little action seems to be taking place. We in the Robert Owen Society believe that we now need a Royal Commission on UK governance.
We find that the Robert Owen Society can call for such a Commission if we can demonstrate support.
